It’s World Read Aloud Day and also my book birthday! That means Mine is officially available online and in stores right now!!
To celebrate, here’s a short reading I recorded for the #WRADChallenge2018.
In a few weeks’ time (or less, oh my god) my latest novel Mine will hit South African shelves.
So far, I’ve been describing the book as a love story. And it is.
The clock is counting down to MINE’s official release and I CAN’T WAIT.
I’m super excited about this. My new novel, Mine, has gone to print and is scheduled for release 10 February 2018, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
It was such an honour to make the shortlist for the Short Sharp Story Award, and even more so to be included in the anthology. I learned a lot from the editor, Joanne, and I can honestly say my future work will benefit richly from the experience.

I absolutely adore the cover of my new novel out now in Germany, Zwei Herzen im Goldfischglas. (It translates as Two Hearts in a Goldfish Bowl).
It’s about a kid who uses his amazing observational skills and logic to help the girl of his dreams become popular.
It’s a quirky love story that tackles some tough topics, like Autism and rape culture (especially pertinent now with the Stanford rape case dominating the headlines.)
What do you think of the cover?

My YA masterclass returned to Open Book again this year and to my absolute delight, was one of the first events to sell out. Last time we tackled How to write a YA novel, so this year I decided to narrow the focus a little bit.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks with writing taking up most of my time. I’ve been itching to blog, but every time I sit down in front of my computer I automatically open my manuscript and the next thing I know it’s time for bed.
Not that I’m complaining. I love slipping into my own little world and only coming up for air if I really have to. But blogging is good too and I’ve been dying to share my good news.
Črna zanka means “Black Tab” in Slovene, according to Google Translate.
It’s also the title of the Slovene translation of Dark Poppy’s Demise!
Sharp Edges comprises six chapters written from six different perspectives. Here are a few quotes that capture the mood of some of these chapters.
